FORMER CORRECTIONAL OFFICER ARRESTED FOR CONTRABAND

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On Monday, March 31, 2025, the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) arrested former Correctional Officer Isaiah Powell at Red Eagle Community-Based Facility for attempting to introduce contraband.

During an entry screening, Powell was searched and three packs of cigarettes were discovered. He was arrested , transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility, and charged with Promoting Prison Contraband 3rd. The day of his arrest was his last day of employment at ADOC.

The ADOC investigation is ongoing and further charges may be pending.
